I've decided wholeheartedly that this is the machine for me, but now I need to decide where to buy it. I've checked out a lot of the resellers who contribute to this site, but there are only 2 i've found who offer customization of ensemble models. Those two are Allasus(aka Startech) and geared2play. I would have probably bought one from Allasus today but they're not open on saturdays apparently. I'm looking to get the W3J as soon as possible with the T2500 2ghz the 100GB 7200RPM drive and the 2GB RAM. I have looked at their reseller ratings and both seem like relatively reputable dealers. Does anyone have any experience with either of these businesses or another that might be able to suit my needs?

PS: Do most resellers still honor Asus' no dead pixel guarantee when they take over the warranty or could i be stuck with a couple?

I would go with geared2play simply because l prefer them over others. Order from them and you won't be disappointed :D

I don't think the W3J has a dead pixel policy so if you do get any, I think you're stuck =/ but I haven't read about any complaints of dead pixels on the W3J so that's a good sign =D

I do know that the V6's do have the policy though

geared2play has the lowest price and great service. Go with them! There is a dead pixel policy with Asus, but I think it's something like 7 dead pixels. Or 3 within a 1" radius. Or 3 bright pixels. If you have one of these then Asus should replace the screen for you.

Or with these small companies, you could ask them to check before they ship.

I'm not an expert in this area but I've dealt with www.powernotebooks.com and they are/were amazing! I spoke to a fellow Ron Baird and he gave me as much time as I could ever wish for.

Justin at proportables definitely knows his stuff, is patient to the max, and has a great reputation as well and I may end up buying from them if PN can't handle my next purchase.

Those are the two I know of well and I'd reccomend both. I've also heard good things about GTP but never dealt with them firsthand.

Note, however, that neither ProPortable nor PowerNotebooks will customize any Ensemble unit, due to the global warranty void issue. If you must do (though I also wouldn't recommend) customizing of an Ensemble unit, Geared2Play is the better option over StarTech IMO. I bought my z63 from Eddie, and recommend him to anyone that asks.
