Hey all. Where is a good place to get a new battery for my ASUS W3V (Model W3H00V24M)? Mine is definitely going if not already gone. I got my computer back in Nov of 2005 from ProPortable. I emailed them but didn't get a response. Thanks.

I put "W3V battery" in Google & got 75 hits. Try it you'll like it.

    What is this Google thing???

Has anyone had a good experience with an online, laptop battery store?

    Thanks.

Well, google didn't do great today. Went down 11 points :(
But in terms of a search engine, yes, it's awesome, great and amazing :)

I can see if you have never heard Google , or any search engine , as that.

I just thought you & most others here @ NBR had heard of it.

Anyway...I hope he finds a battery now that he has such an awesome , great & amazing tool to look for one. :)

hmm.. I think you're missing the point. Most people here at NBR has heard of google and most of them will probably say it's currently the best search engine, including myself. I can't imagine going through one day without using google (whether it's google earth, map, scholar, finance or mail).

Ummm... why would you use Google when you could ask here? ;) ;) ;)

But seriously, if he wants a legit battery, best to call ASUS direct, though chances are that they'll probably be in a similar condition considering that batteries have a limited shelf life and lose capacity even if they aren't being used.

The ASUS estore is also an option, although indeed since the model is so old probably any original battery still on stock will have problems.

Because all original batteries are probably going to be almost dead at this point, a 3rd party battery that was produced more recently might actually be a better idea.
