Hello there, I owned an a8js in the past and was quite pleased with it. The power and portability of it was always an excellent combo for me. Being in Canada it seems like asus has one of the best warranties possible with 2 years and the 1 year accidental, along with the 30 day no dead pixel policy.

That being said, id like to get something like my former a8js as well. However, I was hoping to get something with some strong hinges or a very durable design, as the killing blow to my A8js is severe damage to the hinges to the point of having the screen almost falling off.

So in essence im looking for something around the same, but with a better durable design, and if possible, with a decent cooling system? Anyone aware of a good model for me or of any that may be released soon? Thanks.

    Hi there fellow A8Js user.
N82Jv/Jq is a good choice if you need it right away and don't mind the downgrade of screen resolution (1440x900 to 1366x768).

But if you're like me who wanted to get hands on higher screen resolution and you can wait till later in this year, N53Jf/Jq will be the best bet along with Mobile Fermi. The weight isn't too far off either. It's 2.7kg vs A8Js' 2.4kg.
If you don't mind the screen resolution, again, N53JQ (1366x768 resolution) is already available in US market.

I think most of the US resellers like XoticPC, GenTech, etc will have it on late August/early September.
