I'm trying to get a laptop around the $1200 price mark, but I would be willing to buy any of these if I knew one was worth the extra money over the other. However, I don't know a lot about the processors and performance of these laptops, so I came here to get some help.

Right now, I'm leaning towards the M50Vm-A1. It's the most expensive, but from what I can tell, it will perform the best.

Is there anything I'm missing here? The M51Sn-X2 and the M50Vm-X1 look like good buys too, so I'm a little unsure. I just want to know if the M50Vm-A1 is really worth the extra money and will perform noticeably better than the others.

Well, you can't get the M51Sn-X2, since they're no longer selling it. That should make the decision easier.

It seems that with the A1 you're basically paying $100 for 100GB and greater resolution. I'd go with the X1 since you said that your budget was around $1200; and when you factor in tax and shipping, you'll be paying around $1300 for the X1 or $1400 for the A1.

Also, with gentech if you pay with a money order or paypal e-check you get an extra 3 off which takes the final price down to like 1221. Which just happens to be only 21 dollars over your budget.

Haha damn the M51Sn-X2 just went out of stock. I've been watching it for about a month and this is the first time it hasn't been in stock. I won't be able to get the computer for about another week anyways, so it may be back in stock.

Regardless, if the M51Sn-X2 and the others were all available, would the M50Vm-A1 still be the most powerfull? Does the P8400 processor outperform the T8300 in the M51Sn-X2?

And $1200 isn't really my budget, just my price range.
