I had almost decided on buying the Asus W3V. But now, I am thinking again bcoz of the high price. I can't justify paying 1800$ for a pc. My desktop is like 350-400$ and its a pretty good system.

So my question is - is there any other lappy like the w3v (light, good graphics, 14") but at a lesser price?

    Thanks in advance.

What you pay is what you get. spending USD$1899 for this w3v... i must say its really worth every penny! on just a ddr2 512mb ram you can run most of the wonders, a extra 1024 and you can run the wonders of wonders~ By the way, my previous pc was a cheap amd system... about 2.13ghz with pc2100 512mb ram... hehe.

    .. on stock Asus W3V

Well, if you’re looking for cheap, you won’t really find it in the ensemble line (if you think the W3 is expensive).

The “Built On”, or barebones, might be the way to go. The W3 will have a barebones coming out soon that will run you under $1500 very nicely configured. Granted, this will have integrated graphics and a WXGA.

There is also the M6 that is a 15” SXGA, or 15” WXGA, both dedicated graphics, or their refresh, WXGA, with and without dedicated graphics. The dedicated is out yet.

Anyway, check out ISTNC, ProPortable, Geared2Play, Startech, etc. They have all posted here and offer “Ensemble” and ‘Built On” lines that you can play around with.
