    Hello,

Can someone please help me, I am looking for a new laptop and I like what I have seen from asus. Which one is right for me?

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget? 2000 is my maxium

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? USA

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    a. Like: Apple, HP, Sony
    b. Dislike: Dell

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistrubited? Yes

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Everyday computing, i.e. Internet, email, word processing, watching movies, Playing games. This will be my main computer

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Both.

    8) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games or types of games?
TF2, other steam games, Diablo 2 (and hopefully 3), starcaft, and pop cap games (peggle, zuma)

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need? I dont know.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK? Don't Care

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

Either Windows (7) or Mac. I am fluent with both.

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?

    c. WSXGA+ – 1680x1050; The middle ground. Again, text and icons are smaller than WXGA+, and more stuff fits onto the screen. Good for having applications open side by side, like a web browser while playing a video.

    I guess this one???

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

    Doesn't matter

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? not really

    15) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?

Some point soon, a while up to 4 years

    Notebook Components

    16) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 500GB? Do you want a SSD drive? I probably need like 300-400. SSD doesn't matter

    17) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

Yes CD/DVD with dvd burner. Blu-ray is NOT a priority.

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.

I'd recommend the G60VX or the G51J. both fall well within your price range and are amazing performers.
