I'm on the market for an N71 that sells on Ebay and Costco.
I want reliability together with a great screen. Which of the three models should I buy?

    N71 - x1
    N71 - x2
    N71 - A1

I think you are looking for N71JQ.
    Am I right?

If I remember correctly the N71JQ-X1 comes with a single HDD, where as the X2 comes with two HDDs. I am not 100% sure if x2 has two HDDs. You should confirm this from the seller.
Both of the above mentioned models come with DVD burner but no Blue-Ray.

The N71JQ-A1 comes with two HDDs and a Blue-Ray drive.

I personally will not buy the model with single HDD. The single HDD model does not contain a bracket in the empty HDD bay for installing a second drive later on.

People who bought X1 model were looking for that bracket, but I think they did not find it anywhere. So if you go for the model with single drive you would not have the possiblity to upgrade to two HDDs later.

Furthermore, I think the X1 model comes with a 1 year warranty. I am not sure about X2.
The A1 model has two years warranty.

I personally own N71JQ-A1 and I love it.

I bought mine from Gentech PC. I would easily recommend you to look at their website. Their customer service is super. :D

Ken Lee who works for them is usually here on the forum. You can contact him if you want to know details. He helped me a lot when I bought mine and provided me with all the details about this notebook:
