Unfortunately Nvidia has not admitted that it's a major defect and only released very little information regarding the product lineup. Most of the 9xxx series are mostly unaffected.

D3X, do you know whether the nVidia 9300 M G is affected? Since it seems to be on the same 80nm technology as the 8400, I'm a bit worried.

Originally, it was just said that all the G84 and G86 chips are bad, which included the 8400M and 8600M models (and I think their desktop counterparts). A recent article here is now claiming that all G92s and G94s are affected as well, which include the 8800 series, 9800 series and some 9600's. This new bit of info is unconfirmed, but Dell/HP has mostly officially confirmed the problems on their 8400M and 8600M laptops. nVidia is not saying anything, so I've personally been going ATI all the way for both my laptop and my desktop until this is resolved.

I'm not so sure. Nvidia hasn't been very forthcoming with information. It's hard to be sure whether the same process problem affects the newer ones and we won't know till they've been out for 9-12 months. To be on the safe side, I'll be buying ATI for my next purchase.

use the list tag and asterisks. it works like this:
(minus the space)

item 1

item 2

item 3
(minus the space)

    and looks like this:
    • item 1
    • item 2
    • item 3
