Look up your notebook's detailed specifications. A service manual is usually the best way to determine what you need. You'll need to watch out for configuration, is your current RAM 2x512Mb or 1x1Gb? As far as I know laptops usually only have 2 slots for RAM so if its a 2x512Mb configuration then you'll have to buy 2x1Gb or 1x2Gb. If its 1x1Gb and you dont plan to upgrade it further (I wouldn't go past 2Gb, dont think it would be necessary) you can just put in a matching 1Gb stick. The RAM type may be printed on the existing stick(s) so if your game enough to open your RAM cover (and your notebook isn't under warranty) you can try that.

    Good Luck

Man if you can get a 1x2GB get it so you'll have 2.5GB total.

But first, make sure that your computer supports 2GB sticks! At the time the computer was manufactured those weren't around so the BIOS/hardware might not support them.

Browse/search this forum for other people that have upgraded your particular type of notebook.

And do not think of getting 2x2GB a lot of notebooks and operating systems (XP, Vista) have issues running those.
