Can you post the specifications/descriptions of the S96s and Z96s?

The difference between the S96 j and Z96 j(older napa platform barebones) were that the Z96J had a higher resolution(wsxga+), integrated bluetooth, and the warranty is covered through Asus rather than Intel.

Since they both have same video card 256mb 8600m GS( i assume they are identical-same memory/clocks) they should preform the same( most games a GPU dependent though some games can be also CPU intensive).

Though the S96s with 2gb as well as faster CPU should preform better(you will notice a bigger performance increase with 2gb of ram then a 7500[a 7300 might be cheaper and you wont notice the difference in gaming]. A faster RPM hdd will help in overall loading times(games +windows) and should not effect gaming performance

Also look at the Compal IFL90/FL90 w/8600m GT(it preforms better then the 8600m GS but will probably be more expensive).

i can put T7500 with 4 gb of ram. And it will have differnece? in the Z96S 2gb of ram is max.
Okay. How do u thin is it wise choice to buy S96S
    With:
    A-DATA 1GB DDRII SODIMM DDR667 x2
    INTEL CORE2DUO T7500 2.2GHZ 800/4M BOX
    SEA MOMENTUS 7200.2 160GB SATA/150 8MB
    Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS.

And a last question can i stretch GeForce 8600M GS memory from 256mb til 1GB?

4gb is overkill unless you really really need it( 2 gb is recommended withe Vista). The Z96s can also be upgradeable to 4gb since its a Santa Rosa Notebook like the S96s. Also to use 4gb you need a 64bit OS.

The 8600m GS has 256 deticated. It can use 1gb of memory with 2gb of ram installed(its a feature called turbocache but its still preforms poorly compared the 256mb 8600m GT or better video card.

Most games are bottlenecked by the GPU so you want a good video card( a powerful GPU with a 1.5ghz processor will preform better in games then a 2.3ghz with a slow/"bad" video card)

S96s is a better choice overall(faster processor/more ram/faster hdd) but the ingame preformace will be similar/slightly better then the Z96s w/2gb(you can upgrade the ram yourself).

So unless you need the 9cell battery and bluetooth(i dont think the s96s has bluetooth even though is says it does and think they have the same ports/inferfaces) get the S96s.

Also check out the Compal IFL90/Fl90-it will perform better in games.

    I recommend getting S96s with 2gb/3gb , T7300

Yes i am pretty sure the FL90 has the 256mb 8600m GT.

Here is a translation of a polish review on notebookcheck.net of the Compal FL90
    - it mention the 256mb 8600m gt

The main difference between the 8600m GS and GT is that the GT has double the stream processors and a higher Texture Fill Rate which translates into better performance. So if gaming is a priority, the 8600m GT is a better choice then the 8600m GS
