I have an Antec 200 cooler, which is pretty much identical to the Thermaltake Massive with a 20cm fan.

It keeps the underside of the laptop nice and chilly, but I havent seen any serious temp drops of the internal components.

Not sure how it matches up against the NZXT.

Get a NZXT Cryo S or a Zalman NC2000. Those are the 2 best ones. I have the second one and its doing good.
The NZXT should perform better than the one Thermaltake you listed.

Build one yourself if you have the patience, you'll see much better results. Use a few pairs of 80mm case fans and plexi glass.

lol yea but I'm pushin to build a better version of this
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/51472-35-homemade-laptop-cooling-system

I just ordered a 350watt antec psu and 3 80mm 38CFM blue led fans off of newegg for just $30. Plexi glass and pvc pipes will cost $5 so if that's what it costs to drop my temps down to 85C and lower than so be it lol plus once I sell the nc-2000 it'll pay itself you know.

I have the G51VX-X1A, the vent is at the left side. And the bottom isn't hot. Would the fan help that much? I'm planning to buy the Zalman NC2000. My GPU temp is around 70-ish idle.

A fan would help you keep your temps at bay. The NC2000 is a good choice.

Does anyone know what voltage does a firewire output have? I want to conect a fan and the 5V in th USB is not enough.

Do u connect the fans to the psu? How do u switch on the PSU to turn the fans on?

I'm leaning towards the NC2000. I think it covers the g51vx's vents well. Although I think the NZXT Cryo is more likely stronger. Quite a toss up so I think I'm going for the NC2000 for now and will be making a custom pad with 3 big fans in the sweet spots and individual speed control for each fan. ;)

I just got the NC2000. Hopefully that will work well with the G51VT-XA1

I shorted out the the green wire in the main power connector. It's very simple, just get a paper clip and connect the green wire to the black wire next to it and your done!
