Sorry im sure this has been answered before but i lack the time to wade through all of the search results, could anyone please let me know which of the drivers for the 8600M GT from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ are currently the best ones? Im after playing some Unreal Tournament 3 and want to have the best driver setup before starting. Cheers

You can try the 169.04 or 169.09 drivers, most stable and reliable.

Yes they are, but Powermizer causes trouble. Some face a lag issue of Aero in Vista (including me).
    How come ?

I'm on the newest 169.28 right now.
    On laptopvideo2go:
"These are working rather well for me, the first drivers in a while where Powermizer works.
I can reccomend these for desktop work, not tried in 3D yet, these driver releases never leave me any time to"

I tried it out in team fortress 2 and i get a nice fps increase BUT i also had a fps drop and after a little drop it goes back to normal...

Ok thanks sgtmatt1, I'll try out these ones :)

EDIT: actually it doesn't seem to work either. I can't see a difference if im on AC or on battery (GPU temp sticks to 65°c and performances on desktop feel the same).

I ran 169.21 for a good while. They worked quite well. I went back to 169.04 for some tests and CSS is running slightly better.

Hmmm... How come when I try those drivers I get an installation error. Something about not finding the correct drivers or something?

I noticed this on my previous G1 and found that there where mobile versions, which worked. I could tell they where mobile versions because the file name included "mobile" on them.

Are those versions you mentioned above for mobile cards?

Can somebody post a direct link to the files? Maybe I'm getting the wrong versions. :)

    TIA,
    RayanMX

They are drivers that are intended for desktop but with a modded inf file you can install them on a notebooks mobile GPU. Check out the site below for more direct information on how they are installed.
