i pick the G71, although they all look the same. just different colour scheme. and few improvement here and there, hence thats why i choose the G71.
but to be quite honest, none look pretty.
i much rather take the TOSHIBA QOSMIO. -
I like the Asus G more than the Toshiba Qosmio though! -
Wow, I'm surprised someone prefers the Qosmio. I bought a Qosmio first due to a great deal. Unfortunately, the graphics card just wasn't up to the needs of my flight sim so I sold it. The few days I had it, I was going nuts with it because of the glossiness of the whole laptop. The glossy keys on the keyboard were a nightmare!
I own the G50VT-A2 but have to say I like the look of the G70 best from the pictures above. I haven't seen one so I'm not totally sure. I like the G50 but do get bugged a bit by the hi-gloss top cover. It seems to be a static magnet for dust and cat hair. -
-
The G70 certainly looks less flamboyant than the G50/G71 series and I actually prefer it that way despite owning both the G50 and G71 notebooks.

G70 looks the least kiddy. I'd prefer one with the black of the G50 and G71, but with the orange/red parts replaced by a brushed aluminum look.
-
-
G70 all the way.
Brushed Silver Metal + Baby Blue LED lights = Maximum Ownage.
'nuff said. -
How come the G70 is killing the G50 and G71?

I saw the G70 up close before and it is REALLY nice i voted for that the brushed aluminum makes it one of the most professional looking gaming notebooks.
-
-
Brushed metal looks win, it is true. I wish the G50 came in solid black or with red LEDs, the blue/red combo gets a little gaudy. Oh well, I'm picking my G50 up from UPS tonight, I've debated customizing the looks by painting the red-orange parts piano black like the cover.
Still, stock - the professional look does it for me. I want to be able to take my laptop to work (I work as a subset of a legal department for a major telecom company) and not have it look out of place. -

The brushed aluminum look is elegant. -

Yeah when I saw that aluminum on the W90 I think thats what really pushed me, between that and the quad core I decided its enough to make me upgrade from the G50V.
Id be ok with just 1 gpu though dual 4870's is a bit overkill since I do not game much and 18" size is really big (but 1920x1080 screen is sweet)
Here is hoping for a 17" model with 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 with a ATI 4560 single card and a quad core with the aluminum design... thats my ultimate laptop right now (with dual 500gb hdd's)
I like the W90's inside area more too than the G70 it does not have that odd "G series" color border, plus dont ask me why but its cheaper despite being a better machine in almost every way. -
Yeah, now that my G50 has arrived, I must say that I no longer plan to change the orange to black. It is actually semi-metallic looking and makes it look more like black and metallic copper, far less gaudy than it looks in the pictures. I still say the brushed aluminum look is better, but the G50 is a now a much closer second to me.

Yes when i saw the orange at Best Buy too it was pretty nice.
It isnt really bright and looks good.
Its the same thing with the 7811 Orange. -
The G70 is the best out of those, but the G50VT-x1 at best buy is the best, IMO.

I just don't care for the grey in front of the keyboard, the two-tone looks much cleaner in my opinion.

i think he means the the blue/silver?
-
Two tone as in orange/black.

Yeah, the Silver/Blue and the Orange/Black are cleaner looks to me. The G71's Black lid, red trim, and silver wrist wrest area just bugs me... too busy looking. The reason I chose the G70 as the best looking is because it is a clean silver/brushed alluminum look, which I like. Still, if the G50 was solid black OR had Red/Orange LEDs, it would take my vote since I don't think they should have kept the blue LEDs for the G70... it just looks odd to me when leds are put with light colored surfaces.
As it stands, I disable the side LEDs on my G50, I just wish I could disable the bottom bar and ROG logo lights as well.
My picks for best looking gaming notebooks NOT on this list:
Clevo D901C
ASUS W90
MSI (any modern model) with the SILVER trim.
I skipped on the X1 and X5 models at Best Buy since I don't want my notebook to be the computing equivilent of a honda with a park bench spoiler and 5000 stickers. I like my notebooks like I like my cars:
Clean, professional looking, good for daily use, but able to kick out some teeth when performance is needed. -
i say G71
that thing looks sleeek -
Wow, G50 is now only trailing the G70 by ONE vote. The G71 is still a few behind, it has about 60% the votes of the other two. Still, none of them are BAD looking.
-
The worst looking gaming notebook has to be the Sager np5797, followed closely by the np9262 and Qosmio X305. Best looking, Dell M1730, Asus G70 and MSI GT725.
-
I agree with the NP5797, but only in orange trim. In the Silver/Black it looks pretty nice IMO. The NP9262 isn't ugly, just dated looking because of the bulk. It looks like a laptop from the late 90s. The X305... when I see those, I think my eyes are going to bleed.

Come on G70 lets keep those votes rolling!
-
I think that the reason the Asus G70 has the highest price is because of it's silver colour?
-
Hey!
The NP9262 is not ugly, just big boned
My vote goes to the G70, gotta love the brushed Aluminum. -

W90. Duh.
Hahha, G71 looks best out of these. -
And Sword and Scales wins the Sig of the Century award.
-
I might be getting the G50 by next month so it's nice to see it catching with the G70!
-
I would've voted G70, but that port at the back that is reddish-orange clashes with the blue!
-
g70 looks really nice. The g50 and g71 look almost identical lmao. I wish my x5 had the black finish
-
Brush aluminium on the G70 looks too good
-
G50 - Orange trim + Blue lights... the Gator fan in me likey

I guess these are enough votes to justify that the G50vt is good looking.
Which model looks better? G50/G70/G71
