I think most of you guys are aware of these two upcoming laptops. Dell's looks a little better and thinner and apparently much pricy. And Asus's, you can do what ever you want on it... Hard to decide![]()
BTW, they should both become available around July 15th.

I think you should add the Asus W7s as well, its very similar to the S37s. The specs are so similar though that I could go either way right now. Depends on pricing of the M1330....All three have fantastic styling, so that isn't making it any easier.
The W7s will have the highest quality, but it only has one memory slot + 512MB soldered in and low battery life/high heat; the S37s will be the cheapest and most configurable, however it is the heaviest; and the M1330 will be the lightest and have some nice options, but will be much more expensive than the other two. -

I like S37S simply for its better price point and I can put all the parts in myself.

I like the XPS M1330 because of it being thinner and configurable to my tastes. And it has an LED screen as an option.

oh wait, it has an LED screen...I think I wanna change my vote...
-
Until it's been released, the m1330 gets the edge.
-
I just remembered that the M1330 has a better graphics card to go along with its better technologies, so it gets my vote.
-
I am gonna hold off until I see a price for the X1330.

Neither. Sticking with the Z33 until we see a new Centrino with some real benefits to it compared to Napa. Santa Rosa was nothing but a "hey guys, we have to shove something out the door every year".
-
If you had some time with a core duo cpu I dont think youd think that.
The dual cores come up in all tasks its almost like two computers. -
Jumper: Wait for Penryn or Montevina, with the 45nm CPUs. They should offer more performance, lower power consumption and lower heat.
I think pricing of the M1330 will closely ape that of the Sony SZ. -
-
Well, the first generation of Penryn chips are compatible with the Santa Rosa platform, so you can swap out the Santa Rosa CPU for a 45nm Penryn chip once they come out.

im definitely getting the s37 been waiting for 3 months
btw any1 know when s37e (integrated graphics) will be released? -
Probably at the same time the S37s is. When exactly that is, I have no idea. The resellers probably would know though.

The XPS 1330 I spec'ed out was $2000. I'll have to pass

get the Asus if you're limited budget.
Get the M1330 if u have spare cash.
that's my vote.
in my opinion i'd get the M1330.
But in real life i'd prefer the Asus S37S.
Since Vivek says that the new line of 45nm is comming up so i hold off my purchase needs til those new technologies come out.
Plus i dont' really need one now cause my laptop is already Core 2 Duo. I won't see much performance if i move to the next gen notebook. -

They have both Models that you're looking for for preorder -
It's only "like having two computers" if you run a two tasks that each take up a whole core... Which rarely happens because of the way software is written now. I can count on one the number of times I have really taken advantage of dual core - MP3/video encoding, CFD analysis, and compiling. None of which I do very often.
But hey, the manufacturers sold a ton of new CPUs. -
Which one are you getting? Asus S37S or Dell M1330...
