 The more I read the more confused I become. I can't decide between the v6j, or the w3j.... I don't really game much, but as a designer I do lots of graphics is the ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 or Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 best for graphics!
I will be taking the notebook with me occasionally to see clients and when traveling but I don't think that's a problem with either system. From the pictures I've seen ,I think Asus makes beautiful laptops and of course that's a priority to me ...

The W3j has a more powerful card.

The V6j has more screen real estate.

Whichever is most important to you...go with that one.

I am not a super expert on these models, but I would think that unless you are doing heavy duty animations or 3D models or something, that the real estate would be far more beneficial than the graphics card for your work as a designer.

Is the powerful card as important in graphics or is it more for gaming... I don't want to appear stupid, however I am a little when it comes to the actual
functions of these bell's and whistles...

Yes, for your purpose, definately go with teh V6J. The resolution on the W3 is just too low for graphics work.

When it comes to displaying 2D images or manipulating/creating them in photoshop there is no difference between the X1600 and Go 7400 at all. Now if you use a 3D program you may benefit from the more powerful graphic card. But for all 2D work you will see so difference between the two cards. What I would base your decision on is the screen size. Do you want Widescreen 16:9/16:10 or Standard aspect ratio 4:3?

i would go with the V6J and its SXGA+ screen.
    more desktop real-estate for work.

For graphics work.. the V6va is actually the best...... you'll be hard pressed outside of gaming to see a real difference between the 128mb x700.. the 128mb 7400 and the 256mb x1600......... where you will see a difference is in the screen... and the V6va's screen is on it's own level.
