Attempting to come up with a good retailer to purchase a ASUS notebook from and have narrowed it down to either XOTIC or GenTech

The XOTIC company has an option of paying for a one year dead pixel guarantee and an option to purchase a 4 year warranty where as the GenTech does not.

Are both good retailers to purchase a notebook from guys ?

Both are good, I got mine from gentech because xotic tends to get backed up real fast.

Thanks for the fast reply hakira. Though both are good, I seem to be leaning towards a longer warranty and that longer pixel guarantee that may or may not be needed. Peace of mind I guess

I ordered my N71JQ from Gentech PC and I am super satisfied with their service.

Ken Lee from Gentech PC always goes extra miles to help his customers.
With N71JQ we had a fan cycling issue, and Ken Lee was very helpful. He reported it to ASUS and kept on following it up with ASUS HQ until we finally got a solution through a new bios. :D
So from my side I would recommend Gentech PC. :)

Now see what you did Turbogear ? Got me now tossing a coin in the air as to which one to go with.

Still like the extended/extended warranty of 4 years, but 3 years might do as well.

The final choice is yours.
I just told you my opinion and experience. ;)

I forgot to mention that I live in Germany and ordered the notebook from USA and it was sent to me without any issues.

I order with GenTech. The customer service is 10/10 and my orders always get processed lightning fast. Some of the best communication I've ever seen from a business, tbh.

If you decide for Gentech PC, you can contact Ken Lee if you have any sort of questions.

    Here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/member.php?u=34663

When I bought mine, he was very helpful in providing me with lot of details.
I think you have to do one more forum post before you can use the PM function.

Just to clarify, GenTechPC also has the option to purchase a one year No-Dead-Pixel warranty and AFAIK, xoticpc doesn't have a 4 year warranty option. 3 years is what's being offered and it's the same for GenTech as well.

As others here have already mentioned GenTechPC's superior customer service and their great buying experiences, I'll add my confirmation to those claims. And from my past purchases from GenTechPC, it's very obvious that they truly care and value all their customers and has never pressured me into purchasing a laptop or other services that I don't need or want. But to be fair, I've heard others say XoticPC isn't bad either though I'd personally still go with GenTech if I was in the market for a new Asus.

Xotic DID have the 4 year warranty options available, as well as the new onsite warranty. Not sure where they disappeared to, just noticed they were gone today.

That's because the 4 year warranty or on-site service are not for online retailers, it's provided for Asus's B2B customers such as government or school contract only.

If people buy it from Asus's online reseller Asus will not provide the on-site service or 4 year warranty.

That was odd. I did see the 4 yr warranty but now today, its gone. Go figure. But any how if thats the case, then GenTech will be contacted soon for a purchase.

Thanks to all for the good informative replies
