I just uninstalled my video driver completely, and ran drivercleaner.

Before I install the video driver again, can any vista w3j owners please tell the current driver they are using, and where I can find it.

I donwload the one from asus site, and the one provided here in the Asus Vista Drivers 32/64 thread. I don't know if they are the same. Some suggested to download directly from AMD page, but they don't have a driver for the X1600 mobility radeon. It says t ocheck with the notebook manufacturer.

I want a driver which enables me to adjust setting in the advance view, as the driver I installed before, I could not find the advance view. I want to enable powerplay, adjust color etc.

    please

I installed CCC with the ATI driver again, and this is the menu I get now:

how do I go to advanced? I used to do it before in Vista, but ever since someone mentioned powerplay, I wanted to try it, but never could get back into advanced.

    :(

Latino, glad to see active w3j users!

Anyway, I downloaded the one from Asus' website. I am currently running Vista Business 64 bit. I noticed that the install would not complete correctly without errors, so what I did was install the driver first through the device manager. Extract the files from the download to a folder, point the device manager to that folder, then install the driver. When you are finished, go through your normal routine and install CCC with the setup.exe file. This should install everything correctly.

When you restart your computer, it should either ask you whether you want to start in basic or advanced mode. If it does not come up for any reason, try right clicking the desktop and selecting CCC. If this still does not start CCC, go to CCC in the programs menu and select restart runtime.

Try this and let me know what happens.

I don't know what's wrong, the menu in your picture is missing a button. In mine, there's a "Advanced..." button in the lower left part. I can go to advanced mode by clicking the button.

I will try it hopefully soon, I hope the steps you provided will let me see the advance view, or maybe I will format my disk and start fresh. I've been meaning to do that. :)

That is why I have been going crazy, I could have sworn it was there before, but I see nothing. :) Thanks for the reply.

Hehe I don't think my last reply could help you.. but this is the driver I use right now, the one that has "Advanced..." button in my notebook:

    1. Click me, or
    2. Click me, or
    3. Click me, or
    4. Click me, or
    4. OK, click me... :D

Those are the links for version 8.37 from ASUS. Hope that helps my friend.

I will do as Rosemarycane with the driver provided by robohgedhang.

I will uninstall my current driver completely.

Then let the device manager find the extracted files from the downloaded folder. Let it install.

I'll let you know the results.

Thank you all fellow W3J owners.

asustreiber.de may be your answer. But the latest for Vista is 7.31 (they had a 7.5 RC2 but it had dissappeared).

I finally see advance under start menu, but CCC won't open. I also tried restart runtime.

Hmm, that seems strange. If you followed the steps I outlined, did you get any errors when you continued with the CCC setup.exe?

Check to see if CCC is in your startup folder.

    Let me know.

Yes CCC is in the startup folder.

I did not get errors, but I did receive unexplainable warnings. I installed the driver by letting Device Manager scan for the driver in the specified folder of the extracted files. Aftwards I ran setup.exe, and only installed the CCC, towards the end it said that there are warning, which was better than before( because before it used to give me errors.)

    Try this:

1.) Uninstall any ATI related crap from your computer. (make sure to delete any folders if left behind)

2.) Restart, let Vista install generic driver and then unistall it.

3.) Extract your ATI files, or if you already have, go into control panel look for your video card in device manager and point it to your folder with the extracted files. Let it install the video driver.

4.) Then go into that same folder and run the setup. Let it reinstall the display driver and CCC center. If you do not get any errors, you should be good to go.

5.) Restart your machine, it should work. If not, Get back with me.
