Anyone else starting to notice even more, a white horizontal line in the middle of the screen? It is very visible when looking at a black image. Starting to get kind of annoying.

Yup ! Apparently that is a sign of damage to the screen. People say that it is caused by the spacebar area, probably the metal ridge beneath the spacebar. I have it too, but I have seen some people say they have prevented it by always having that little micro fiber cloth that was included placed on the keyboard in the offending area.

Were you ever able to resolve this? I have the same model and I just noticed this within the past couple days. I clean my keyboard with a dustcloth and compressed air every once in a while but this still happened...

    Hi all!

Anybody tried using the warranty because of this error? I've just noticed the white glow at the center of the screen, with dark background it's very annoying. Since I've taken good care of my laptop, no surface damage at atll, it should be covered right?

    Thank you for the replies!

If you have accidental coverage, then yes. If you don't, then as long as Asus can determine it's not physical damage, it should be covered under standard warranty. The only way to know for certain is to get a RMA issued from them.
