I have a white line that is about 2 inches up from the bottum of the screen and is on the left side that extends about 2/3 to the right. The line sometimes will change colors depending on what it is located on to form a lighter color of what it should be. such as if i have it against a black image it will usally turn gray instead of white. Im guessing its not dead pixels since it will change colors a bit? Is their something I can do to fix this? I got this laptop yesterday and the problem started this morning.

I was also wondering if someone could recommend something to moniter my gpu temps?

HWmonitor may work. It depends on your type of video card. HWinfo32/HWinfo may work too, or ATI overclocking tool. MSI Afterburner as well...

As for the white line, does it appear in the bios?

I would use GPU-Z, i have yet to find an incompatible GPU with that one. HWmonitor can't detect some GPUs like the HD5870.

If the line appears in the bios, then it's a hardware issue and you'll have to RMA.

I have the g73hj-a2 and have hwmonitor and it doesnt show the card. I think i tried ati tray tools, or something similiar to that. It didn't work out well.....
Ill try ati overclocking or gpu-z

How do I know if it appears in the bios? I looked around some and i think its stuck pixels but it seems that stuck pixels usally happen when you get your computer and first turn it on, not after a day of using it.

Ok im pretty sure Iwent in to the bios and the white line was still there. It's still there when the laptop boots up and the asus logo comes on. When Iuse hdmi to my T.V. and when i take a screen shot the white line is not there. Does that mean its a problem with my LCD then?

Do you guys know if im suppose to contact xotpic to get me a replacement or do I just go straight to asus?

Use AMD GPU Clock Tool its the only one that worked for me.

I would assume the graphic card is fine if it doesn't show up through HDMI. Does the line still exist if you take a screen shot without connecting it to the TV?

Also I'd recommend you try reinstalling the Graphics Card Driver (Asus default just in case). And I'd contact xotpic first and see what they say instead of Asus.

I only took a screen shot without being connected to T.V.
