    Hi

I have a whitespot on my LCD W3V LCD screen. It's only noticable on white background. It's hard to find it on color background.

Is there anyway I get can get rid of it?

Get informed about TFT LCD warranty. I think Asus repair/replace the equipment.

The laptop is out of warranty so there isnt much I can do beside replacing it.

The LCD doesnt have any other dead pixel other than the white spot. It's not just one or two pixel. It just a spot as big as an pencil eraser.

He might not be talking about a single pixel. My w3j has a very slightly 'bright' spot near the bottom, about an inch to the right of center. It isn't a single pixel. Kind of looks like a pressure point on the screen or something, not very noticeable unless I know it's there.

    I think they're screen imperfections.

Try "massaging" the screen as in the procedure to fix dead pixels? (google)

There is no apriori reason for which this should work... but there is no reason for which it shouldn't. Could be tried.

Massaging the screen of my cellphone fixed a dead pixel, although it randomly comes back from time to time. I'm thinking it has less to do with the crystals and more to do with the contacts behind the crystal?

My Z63A (barebones W3A) has something similar... it's not a white spot, but it's more like a blotch. The screen works fine, just that it's just very very slightly discolored towards the upper right side. It's probably caused by pressure, since the bamboo hinge is kinda tight and you have to push it a bit to close it...
