Hi, I wrote a post and it was erased. It seems that things have changed a bit in here and i am just a little curious as to who is now in control. Thanks.

well i found it http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15777 and i can see why someone would want it deleted.
People need to make coments on this, this is an important issue. -
That thread has been locked, it was getting silly. Everyone will work to get along better now

Drop it Lamangos. You're obviously trying to stir up more trouble and I think we're all fairly tired of it.

Justin aka proportable and myself Andrew aka Underpantman are the moderators for this forum,
to answer your other question, I dont have the power to make anyone a mod, nor can I block users, only admin can do that.
And like Brian the uber admin suggested its time to stop being silly and move forward to a happier future.

Honestly people, is this forum about Asus or some people whining over moderating? Be done with it and move on, it is getting quite annoying.

Well you not the only one, but I think that it is best to give the forum and its moderators the benifit of doubt for the moment...I do believe that you are innocent until proven guilty?
You are quite entitled to an opinion, as are others to voice there's in response. In the future should you feel that your being unfairly sensored, then by all means voice that, but for now I think it is best that the forum try and return to what it is ment to be...a robust and healthy discussion on issues regarding ASUS notebooks.
Thanks

Basically, I have no reason to delete posts until they get to be attacks aimed at me or outright attacks on these systems which the people can not corroborate (the latter is most likely just to be blocked if evidence of the matter can't be proven and is really out in left field)... we all know the certain posts that none of us believe and "camera phone" snapshots aren't exactly going to prove. But one thing that can be proven is if a post was deleted or not and who did it. Because I can only see some people making a post and trying to say I deleted it just to get me in trouble. The fact of the matter is, the admins will call you on that if it's tried (and I know it will)
Unless you're a paying customer of ours, you have no right to make personal attacks towards myself or my company... that is what's considered out of line. There is not a single customer who has taken delivery of a system from us that hasn't expressed great satisfaction with their system and our service..... sometimes we even have this happen with people we've never dealt with and people who bought from other dealers...... Just making random uncalled for attacks are going to be frowned upon because I am a public figure in this forum with a real name and real company who's business is compromised just when someone wants to compare me to Jason from the Friday the 13th movies...... I mean, come on. I have the privledge to post here and since I'm in the US, I'm on a different clock than the other mod and lets face it........ there are a few forums on this site with less activity and more moderators.
I wouldn't be stupid enough to remove someone's voice or anyother dealer's voice just for the sake of it because the administrators can see what posts have been deleted after the fact and who did it. So I am held accountable and if I did that to someone, they'd continue to post to let people know what I've done. So if it's not called for, I'll be in trouble, it's as simple as that. The only posts I deleted I presented to the administrators to get a grasp on the proper way to handle some of this stuff. The bottom line is, locking the forum doesn't alway work. These forums are searchable and plenty of people see them. If what's been said isn't appropriate, it's going to be seen by a ton of people and may lead people to the site under the wrong context.
For the majority of people in this forum, you all have a level of anonimity..... I have a real name and number posted at the bottom of every post, and I can be labeled biased all day long, it really don't matter to me.
I run a company (which by the way is one of the reasons I have the time I do... aside from answering some customer's questions... I have a lot of free time to post, while other people work.)..... but I was invited here to share my knowledge on these systems and to give my opinion and update the forum on news and things of that nature. I'm not in this forum just to say get this it's the best thing on earth and we're the best. That's for someone else to judge. We started importing and working on Asus's system about five years ago and we stuck with them because we believed in them in terms of quality, performance, design, build, price... We still believe in them today and if we didn't, we wouldn't be selling their stuff and only their stuff. I'm more than willing to turn down a sale and I'm not here for the money. Sure, helping out in these forums have gained us some customers and I sure hope it would. If it didn't, my help would mean nothing for the brand on a whole. But I assure you the growth and activity in this site (not just by myself, but all of your reading this) has probably helped the income of the site through advertising rates than it's helped any of us individually... and that's not a bad thing either, but rather the truth when talking about forums that are truly independant unlike sites like NBforums which is big, but run by another system builder.
I guess I'll close by saying I have a huge part to do with this forum at this point and doing so has come with great praise and thank yous from the administrators and the majority of the community here. I'm very passionate about the the systems I use and my company sells, but if I'm ever called a salesman again, I'll be pretty ticked off (but now I don't need to respond to petty things like that). I don't care what you buy, who you buy it with, or how much you spend. You call me and I'll give you the same time I'd give anyone else. The longer we talk, the more I can get to know what you need the system for, the more I'd probably tell you you're overdoing the specs or don't need all of that, whatever. Anyone who's dealt with me knows that and it's really why anything to the contrary gets on my nerves. This forum is supposed to be a positive place to help people. If you don't like the help, leave..... it's free and if you could help better help somewhere else.... you would. So buck up and realize if you got to the bottom of this post you're just as much of a dork as I am. So smile and enjoy your Asus notebooks.

Lamangos, you don't have to believe everything you read here and no matter who is moderator, everyone has their own bias - nobody is going to give you perfectly objective information. If you don't want to buy from Justin, don't buy from him. He's not holding a gun to your head just because he's the mod of the forum now. Those of us who have been here for a while know that you and Justin haven't had the greatest raport lately and I sort of wonder if you would have as much of a problem with anyone else being appointed mod besides him.
We're all tired of talking about this. Whether we agree with the appointment of Justin as a mod or not, that's not what we're here to talk about. So let's drop it.
Please. -

I guess I forgot something...... guess what... there is a reason I have become a moderator. Instead of looking at that as the problem, look at that as the solution to the problem. Since that is the case, it was done to take of a problem...... if there is a problem with that, you might be part of the problem to begin with.
Thanks,
Justin

Well I think that pretty much sums up everything that needs to be said and should be said. I believe that the forum is in better shape with Justin around, and as a mod. I hope that we can all move past this and get to a happy place. Thus I'm going to lock it in an effort to stimulate people into thinking about something else.
Thanks for all the responses and interest, I guess Asus people just care alot..lol
