    I have Asus F3SC
    How Can I figure out that who made my Lap top's HDD? :confused:

    (My) Computer > properties > hardware > Device manager > Disk drives >find the serial/ID number. And paste it into google.

    If that doesnt work, try HDtunes to find the model number.

    It made by Seagate...
    Can anybody that has this notebook say who made his laptop's hdd?

    most will be made by Seagate, if not is gonna be WD. since Seagate bought WD a while ago, they both have the same mother now. so it make no different.

    No. That is not correct. Seagate bought Maxtor and they have merged since, WD was not bought by Seagate.

    o is it, lol my bad. i got mixup. too much hard drives at work, we got WD, Seagate, Hitachi, Fujisu and old old Maxtor.

    go with seagate or wd cause both are most tested

    I thought I was ordering a seagate, but mine came with a Hitachi.

    Asus manufactures their Ensemble notebooks with either Seagate or Hitachi hdd's; what you get in a given notebook depends on the supply contract for that month.

    I heard Hitachi produces more silent HDDs... mine (Seagate) has lots of noises... :(

    My Asus F3SA-A1 has a 160 GB Hitachi harddrive installed from the factory. It is silent and quick. The only noise coming from my notebook is fan exhaust on the right rear.
