I need/want 100% confirmation on if it is an LED screen, and the resolution.
Only if you got it from newegg. Thanks
-
its a 1280x800 resolution, still trying to find out how to see if its LED
there is however a label warning about mercury recycling of the screen, i've been told that means it is an LCD -
The N80Vn-X5 was confirmed as LCD, but I don't think anyone has confirmed the A1 yet.

Why don't you ask newegg?
-
I meant LED.
Curse you, three letter acronyms starting with L and ending with D! Curse you! -
On the 27th i sent an email to newegg to find the resolution of the A1.
This is my email:
Message: Hi, I was wondering if the Asus N80Vn-A1 model that is featured on newegg site is actually offered with the 14.1'' screen as WXGA+? This question arises because I saw the same model on different sites and they do not show the N80Vn-A1 having the WXGA+ screen. So if you could confirm whether the screen is WXGA+ or not would be helpful as I am thinking of buying it and would like to know about the screen before hand. Thanks
and this is neweggs reply which i got today from their customer service:

So now I am wondering if i should go buy the X5 or wait for someone else here to clear up the matter on A1 and then make my final decision on what to buy. -
Thanks!

N80Vn (LED)
http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=61&l3=836&l4=0&model=2737&modelmenu=2
It listed as...
N80Vn-A1
* Operating System
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
* Processor & Cache Memory
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5800
N80Vn-B1
* Operating System
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
* Processor & Cache Memory
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8600
I assume it's LED. -
I'm not so sure. I bought my N80Vn-A1 from Amazon this week and it was clearly advertised there as LED; on arrival the sticker on the machine confirmed LED as well (so does its brightness and lack of flicker or need to warm up). That's the good news. The bad news is it was $50 more than the NewEgg price which MAY account for the lack of LED on the NewEgg model... it seems every seller who offers the LED backlight talks it up and there's not a peep on the NewEgg site about LED on either of the N80 models they carry.
Anyone bought from the Egg and know for sure??? -
forget emailing newegg just call them its easy
are you talking about this one
so this is a 1280x800 WXGA, and i think that the only difference with the A1 and the X5 is the cpu and the hd speed (says 5400 for a1 and 7200 for x5) there may be other differences but my guess is that the screen should be the same -

I was looking to buy the n80 x1 until they removed so i went with the a1, since i got my paycheck yesterday.
I ordered it today from newegg so it should be here within a few days, ill post if it has led or not -
heehee i had a little laughing fit today when i looked down at the wrist rest stickers, on the left sid sticker it says Color Shine Glare-Type LCD, on the right side it has a sticker listing the laptop's specifications, under display : 14" WXGA/LED
did anyone who bought the A1 from newegg get a reciept in the package? or is the invoice email the reciept? curious -
