He doesn't need any more answers. He's got all of his questions answered. The 9800M GS is recognized in GPU-Z (sometimes) as the 9800M GT as it is a relatively new card that uses drivers that cause it to recognize it as a different card.
As mentioned before, you can't flash shaders. You can only increase clocks, so you technically have a 9800M GS flashed to 9800M GTS
Your welcome? -
I also have to question someone's motives to make things really difficult for some minor thing (buying online etc), but hey, its not really my problem
-
well thanks for the help.

Your welcome
.
That's a really nice 3D06 score you got there. -
thanks. ya thats after all the upgrades i did. a little bit of overclocking and extra hardware. i get a 5.5 on vista as well. would be 5.9 but my memory only scores 5.5
-
Yeah, I think only DDR3 RAM can get that much.
-
ya im kind of pissed. with 8gbs you think i could get 5.9

I heard that vista WEI scores were pretty meaningless to actual real life performance. Is this true?
-
Not sure why your RAM gave you such a low WEI score especially with 8 GB's, every time I went to BB it was 5.9's across the board except for the CPU.
That's besides the point WEI scores give you a baseline score of how well your PC/laptop will perform but in every day use the numbers mean nothing.
Your 3DMARK06 or Vantage score is more meaningful. -

WEI can be an indication that a driver update or windows update has ed with your performance. Or in that guys case a failure to install any of his drivers.
