I was sitting here a moment ago playing GRID at 1280x720 4xAA at 60FPS and realized I basically have a portable XBOX360, only better.

Even on battery, it can do 30fps (I run with Vsync on). That's equal to what the PS3 can manage and the PS3 is running 1280x720 2xAA.

I'm sorry - but that's just pretty amazing to me. I can't figure out why consoles are kicking butt right now. This is just so much better.

I can't take a console to work. Or the toilet :D

Consoles cater to the masses who can't bother installing games or pressing the more than 15 keys on the keyboard.

laptop "gamers" are ridiculous. get a console or a desktop

    cody8005 (Me) (27 minutes ago)

yes because a proprietary children's toy or massive stationary 747 jet engine is what we need.

It's unfortunate that there are so many console-only games. My wife is a big Zelda fan, and I'm into Final Fantasy, so we have to keep two versions if we want to play the series, but we also both have decent laptops. I'd rather play on my computer. I assume the main advantage for companies developing on consoles is that they know exactly what hardware it will be run on, so it will always look/perform as expected. No need to consider Nvidia v. ATI coding, single or multi-core CPUs, or any other hardware options. So its easier for them, but it sucks for us.

    No thanks.

WASD was not meant for action games. Sorry if you think anything else, because you're wrong.

Games like God of War and Devil MAy Cry play way better with a controller. I was thinking of getting Arkham Asylum, but then I remembered that I would need to pick up a 360 controller in order to play it smoothly.

I can't wait to try Arkham Asylum on the g51vx. In fact I think the game and the laptop design go well together.

I like controllers for sports games , racing, flight but other than that it wasd 4 me.
