I've just had a little idea spring to mind. I hope it hasn't been done before and that no one will get mad at me doing this.

    Here's the idea.

Every laptop manufacturer/brand has something unique about it. Each have their advantages and disadvantages, and their fanbase. Something must draw the fans to this brand or that, and I'd like to know what.

So I'm gonna post a thread like this in the forums dedicated to each of the major manufacturers (i.e. the ones who have the most active forums).

I welcome everyone (especially the fans of the particular brand) to post what is it that they like about these laptops. Any reasons are welcome - from features and performance to price and family traditions.

Of course, you can also post things that you don't like.

So, why do you like ASUS?

ASUS produces very sleek, yet simple designs... very aesthetically appealing. At the same time, they maintain a high level of quality and functionality... while keeping the price reasonable on pretty much all of their systems.

The customizable options are really attractive.

Plus, they are the ODM of major brands like SONY, Apple and IBM, so they have quite alot of experience, ideas and usually brings it to their own models.

It stands out from the crowd visually. In a similar way that an expensive German car stands out.

well although its a Taiwan based and from my experiences with toys Made in Taiwan is plastic crap LOL

but its different for gadgets i guess or maybe Made in Taiwan now is not the same as before

In case of Asus well the design is attractive and i think its the best out there or maybe in the same category as Sony Vaio one although Asus indeed built Sony laptops and for Asus the quality is very good :)
