How come Asus laptops don't have any screen resolution options? Almost every resolution is 1366x768 unless you buy a $2000 gaming machine?!?
I finally found another person complaining about this! I knew I wasn't alone!
ASUS N61J-X2: Optimus GT325M Meets Arrandale - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News
They either have a low resolution but ALSO in many cases, NO LED screen.
Why?!? Doesn't anyone prefer at least a 1600x900 res and having a decent LED screen? I thought LED was catching on. Well, I guess Asus has a decent amount of LED screens but when the screen res is larger, I think it's just a CCFL-backlit screen?!?

Screen res here is 1080p and it's LED...

Man don't know what to do. I have the AUO display at 1600x900, it's pretty bad and I'm thinking of returning it and order online to get 1920x1080. Tho, this lappy doesn't have any problems that I've read online so damn...

Did you not read the entire post? I said that you can get higher resolutions and LED screen (that is, a combination thereof) with ASUS with their GAMING LAPTOPS. That means only the G51 and G73 models!
I am becoming interested in their UL30 series, though. If I go with a smaller screen, I can live with 1366x768 but it sounds like there's no eSATA port which is a shame. -
Actually, Ziddy was answering your question. It's far less than $2k, and it's an LED with full 1080 resolution. They just don't offer it for that model that you're looking at, apparently.
Why no LED/resolution options?!?
