I knew about that other forum, but you'd think there would be just as many people here.. oh well

Nothing is stopping you from starting one. Like maybe "The Official eee Whatever"

If enough people are interested it will be picked up on. If not that other forum will still be there.

Yeah, I'm surprised how little interest there is on this forum for the eee pc. I don't think having another popular forum precludes discussion here. We have a Lenovo forum and there are other thinkpad forums.

Why not make a "netbook" subforum. That way it can be populated with all the net books like the wind, dell inspiron 900, eee, aspire one, etc.

That is not a very hot idea, because the forums are already split according to one criterion (brand). Using a new one (subnotebook vs normal notebook) is now having two criteria, which is bound to create complications, inconsistencies, and confusion.

Making an official eee thread is going to be difficult, seeing as ASUS has a roadmap for over TWENTY THREE friggen variations. Which is kinda gross.

You would just create an owners lounge like we do for all the other models.

I personally cant see why you would get a EEE over a Wind except unless you got one before the Wind was out or because you dont want to wait for the Wind to be easily available.

This thread made me go see whats going on at msiwind.net and looks like Amazon has some Wind units.

The price was supposed to be $499 w/ 6 cell orginally but that ended up being a 3 cell due to the battery fire deal. So now the 6cell cost $549.

But Amazon has a rebaded Wind w/ 6cell for $529! not bad http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...mp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001E0C4B8

Id definitely get this before a EEE. Even tho the picture is black I think its the special edition the "love edition" that they are selling as it says it in the description, so its white with some hearts on it lol.

The question that might become more relevant going forward is why one would purchase a Wind over the IdeaPad S10 in the higher config, esp when it is released later in the fall with a 6 cell? Kind of where I'm leaning at the moment, with the Wind's mid $500s price tag, since the S10 is at least $100 cheaper.
