Why won't this G50V system restore properly?

I've tried twice to get this thing to restore properly from the discs--it does not seem to want to do it properly.

    This is what I'm doing:

    1) Booting from recovery disc 1. I tell it to recover to the entire drive, it goes on it's way.
    2) It asks for the Driver CD. I insert the Driver CD and it does its business then reboots
    3) It boots straight to Windows. What the heck? It doesn't do the usual Vista welcome screens asking for my name, computer name, time zone etc.
    4) After awhile a utility pops up asking me if I want to reboot into "Out of Box Experience"... I do this, it reboots and I get the normal Vista welcome stuff, asking for my name etc.
    5) After all the OOBE stuff it reboots and I get Vista with no drivers, no software, nadda. It's a completely bare Vista install, not what I want.

What am I doing wrong here? It never asks for Recovery Disc 2 at any point.
