Take a look at my processor temp. I guarantee that other than resizing the image to lower file size, this image has not been altered. I found this quite funny when I opened up NHC 2.0 this morning.

I personally already didn't trust it and normally don't use it. But it has one feature that I do like, which is why I keep it. I like to use NHC to monitor battery drain rate in watts.

Hope this brings some laughs. Oh, and just so you guys know, the laptop is cool to the touch right now. :D

Aye. You could also incinerate your body, and everything within remotely near you.

And I thought intel's pentium d was bad. So when did intel beef up their thermal protection on their procesors?

Haha, now YOU can complain about heat! I was a known opponent of NHC when it came out, and yes there are still some bugs in v.2, but I actually like v.2 for the most part. There may be a glitch in the program, or perhaps you should just reinstall, but the problem you're seeing is really the only thing I don't like...... gpu and cpu temps usually aren't that wrong, but I find them to be a certain percentage off. While idle, you can't see the difference, but it's more of a dramatic shift under a full load and the temps reported may be above the fail points of the cpus........ which is impossible if the system is still running.

Let us know if that error continues.

Aye. That's almost as hot as the outer surface of the sun.

You do realize though that the processor was probably running around 50C, and that NHC just screwed up? :)

By the way, NHC didn't change the cpu temp after a good 10 minutes. Stayed stuck at that temp.

Just picked up Oblivion. Installing it on my desktop. Going to be fun. :)

NHC 2.0 works fine overhere. It must be something wrong with the reading.

    Cheers,

NHC 2.0 Build 3 works fine for me.

The regular 2.0 BSOD on me.

But so far so good, I only use NHC anyways when im on battery to downclock as I have speed stepping disabled.

You can use mobile meter to monitor battery drain along with CPU and HD temps. Its a pretty small app too so it doesnt suck memory and you can make it transparent which I think looks really cool, lol. It's kinda hard to find though, you might have to kinda through some search results on google to find it.

Don't even joke about that. I would never go near anything dell related. Except when I'm at school, but that's a different story. The tech guys(network admins) at my school sell USB thumb drives. It only takes me about 45 seconds to make one of them into a bootable Linux device. The admins can't understand why all these people are booting Linux on the school computers. They managed to trace one of the users to be a friend of mine, and they sent him an E-mail saying that if he didn't stop, his school account would be suspended. As if he needed a student account to get on the computers!

Anyway, I normally wouldn't use NHC. But I've got it on there, from when I did temp monitoring for my review Z96J review I posted back in July. Worked fine then, and all the way up to the point where I took that screen shot. One day I opened NHC to monitor power consumption, and the cpu temp started shooting way up. It was just a one-time glitch. Quite funny, if you ask me.

Speaking of hot laptops, my school has a CNC drill and I was thinking about using it to make parts to put together a fully custom watercooling system for the Uniwill in my sig. Just for fun. I was already planning on pulling it apart to repaint it soon. If I do anything, I'll post it up here on NBR somewhere.
