I have been waiting for a long time for a laptop to have this cool a screen. I had an HP with the Dual lamp WXGA+ 17" and everything but the resolution was kick ass. Better color and the ability to use the laptop outside in the sun. Pictures and video looked better than my older Sammy 19" desktop LCD. Low resolution was a big down side for the technology, but that has changed.
Does anyone know if more models will have this Dual ccfl WUXGA 17 inch? Perhaps with a less gaming, more professional look. (However I like the way the G2s looks) The W2b with HD DVD, HDTV Tunner, and this screen

Of course the G2s has it, but this screen with a really hot card, like the 7950gtx or better (dx10 equivalent) would be truly awesome. For that, i would not care about battery life...
Also why doesn't Asus put 10 keys on their 17 laptops?

Sure hope they do, the only reason they might not is if the price is too much, and the current W2 price point is quite fair enough, anymore and it'll deter potential sales.

an equavalent Samsung or LG(single CCF) with same res are wholesaled all around the same price $460-$500 so it would be a benefit for any 17" maker to put same screen in for better overall picture depth.
It certainly will be cheaper than the LED backlights -
Um perhaps not an asus but look for that screen to be on the 17 inch clevos and xps 1710 someday also
Will Asus put the G2s screen in any other laptops?
