Or am I just confused. G2P was a second model of the G2 right? If so, do you think the G1S will be upgraded with say an 8800GT? that would be pretty nice.

I doubt an 8800 will fit in a G1S.

yeah. figures. But imagine it!

You are definately confused.
The G2s was the 'refresh' of the G2p, meaning its a new platform. The G2p used a 667mhz Core 2 Duo and x1700, the G2s had the 800mhz Core 2 Duo and 8600GT. Think of it this way, the G2p was the Quarter 1 G2, the G2s is the Quarter 3 G2. Well, that didn't come off well, I wanted to relate it like cars, a 2006 model, a 2007 model, etc.
It's pretty much an update on the G2 chassis with a new motherboard, screen, new ports, etc. It does not mean it was upgraded on certain parts. Notebooks can not be upgraded easily, with the exception of RAM and HD. -

oh i know that the G2P would be a downgrade to G2S but the G2p was an upgraded from just the G2 or was it?
-
Nope, the G2s was a completely new motherboard and modified chassis then the G2p. Pretty much you can't buy a G2p and upgrade the parts to the G2s, if thats what you are trying to get.

no. lol. I'm just wondering if the G1S would ever become something like G1Sp or something like that
-
I wouldn't be surprised if that came out in a few months, G1sc or something with the 8700. It's just how technology rolls.
Will G1S be upgraded like the G2P was?
