as the title says, what do u guys think about the heat issue of C90s? Will it be another toaster? I just want to see how people think

I have heard that thanks to the four fans behind the laptop we should expect cool and quite operation.
-
well...i wouldn't say quiet...
-
Yes, those huge fans will keep it cool, but as for noise i expect it to be loud.
-
Not quiet. Not with an array of mini-turbines on the back. As for heat, it should be similar to the G1s or maybe a bit cooler.
-
I've seen this machine (not running).
The machine is cooled via heat pipes mainly, I say that to emphasise the fact that this machine has the largest heat pipe affair I've seen in a notebook before. (Thats not to say there are no fans but the "main" cooling is heatpipe.)
I wouldn't expect this machine to be noisy as such, ofc it's not going to be whisper quiet but I would expect this to exceed peoples expectations of noise. -
Depends on some choices. I'm sure it has enough fans to keep it cool, but it will depends on chosen thresholds... Extreme example: if they have the fans running 100% all the time then temps will be like 30 degrees idling but it will be noisy as hell. If they choose thresholds around 50 or even 60 degrees before the fans kick in it will be less noisy but a lot hotter.
Choices -
would it get damaged easily if dropped? Since the whole bottom can be taken off O_-

Well, Desktop processors use much more of the power they recieve and thusly give off more heat. while it may not be over 95 during intense use, I highly doubt it will be under 70 even idling. this is not a LAP-top laptop.
-
This laptop will be great when im in the basement, cool room or walk-in freezer
-
What'll you be doing with a notebook in a walk-in freezer?..
-
inventory for a restaurant or grocery store?
-
I think the fans will keep it cool. There no point in having that fan array if it doesn't keep it cool but if i thought 1 laptop fan was bad on full throttle im sure i will love this lol -
well quiet fans do exist though and since there are four of what appears to be a larger than average diameter I don't think they are going to be revving to jet engine speeds/sound levels.
-
you also got to think about the overclocking feature it has. i dont think asus would have included it if the processor got really hot on normal settings
-
I wonder if the overclock feature lets you adjust the vcore. That would be one sweet laptop if it can. Most of the C2D can do 3ghz on stock vcore and some even below. Assuming you got a good chip that can do below, then you can lowered power consumption and gain performance.

CD2 dont run very hot even the desktop versions. This is not the re-awakening of the horror that was the Pentium 4 notebook.
Those were like the hottest CPU's in history, why sombody put it in a notebook is beyond me. Im sure that even tho that happend way back when it has lead to alot of the scare everybody has about this new setup with a C2D. I mean like said above on stock vcore they do 3ghz on the stock cooler in a desktop machine.
BTW the name for the P4 prescotte in the computer world was "presshot"
