    Will W3V get an update this fall

    Any confirmation if the W3V will be getting a refresh this fall. Like a processor upgrade? I'd hate to buy this month only to find out that an upgrade is due in Sept. I dont urgently need so a few months wait is no biggie.

    previous threads said 2.0 in August sometime so proably available for purchase in Sept.

    But more processor equals more heat and little increased performance.

    A faster processor doesnt always mean more heat. Because Pentium M's come with speedstep technology the processor will be able to clock up or down depending on usage. Therefore, under light use, both the 1.86 and the 2.0 ghz processors could clock down to 800 mhz and run on the same voltage and have the same heat output. Of course, while running full throttle at 2.0 ghz the faster processor is going to produce more heat, but it will also perform better.

    But yeah, the updated w3v with 2.0 ghz processors are coming out soon so it would be best to wait for it because it will be the same price as the 1.86 ghz w3v's currently are.

    I dont think theyre going to upgrade the video card. The x600 already runs pretty hot and upgrading to x700 would just melt the computer =), well not really but it is already pretty hot and any more heat would just be bad.

    HAHAHA! You read my mind! Guess what guys, there's a notebook comming out with more graphics performance than a 7800GTX and it'll use half the power and last about 5 hours on battery and it'll only be 1" thin! HOWEVER, I haven't heard back from the manufacturer when it'll ship, but my estimate would be in 3 years. Anyone wanna wait? :p

    ... no... it was purely made up in the minds of one sick individual on this thread and then those that followed him just to start another argument.... as if there wasn't already enough drama on those forum.

    All I've said is that you can expect an updated V6 by Thanksgiving........ and all of the current ensembles will at some point probably get a cpu update to 2.0 or something.... but nothing major is in the works.
