I recently bought the Asus P50IJ and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When I go to Asus website theres only drivers for XP and Windows 7. If I DL the Win 7 64bit drivers can I use them on Vista. Normally I wouldnt even ask but since Win 7 is similar to Vista I thought maybe they would. Or should I just use windows update.

If your gonna ask why vista, personally I like vista better then 7, but thats just me.

They should work. I stress the word should. Unless there is something in the inf file that allows only for 7 or something in the setup allows 7 only, you should be alright.

The only way to find out is to try. Before I settled on my G60, I had a G72. I loaded Vista on the G72 and seeing as Asus doesn't provide drivers for Vista for the G72, I used the Windows 7 drivers. They all worked.

Some of the Asus utilities may not work though. Some of them were written for Windows 7 and Windows 7 only. From my experience, they would not install in Vista because the setup detected that I was in Vista and halted the install.

as much stick throwing at vista...why do you want to use it? I myself had no issues with vista and never considered downgrading to xp. but with win7 I sure as hell wouldnt downgrade to vista.

Yeah... I'm kinda curios on that one too as Windows 7 is very much just a tricked out Vista.
