As the title says, will reformatting my M50VM-A1 with a 64bit version of Vista void any of the Asus warranties? I think I am covered by the basic stuff they offer, as well as the 1-year accidental damage thing.
And if it makes a difference, will it matter if its a legit copy? Or OEM?
Thanks a lot,

Warranty only covers hardware.
Though they will might ask you to do a recovery install before sending it in to rule out a software/OS issue. -
If I've reformatted everything, and gotten rid of both partitions and all, will the Asus recovery dvd still restore it to its factory settings?
-
Yes, aslong as you have the recovery dvd its all good.

Great, thanks a bunch

Make sure you also keep your driver CD secure.
That's needed along with the recovery DVD.
Will reformatting with new OS void warranty?
