As the title says, will reformatting my M50VM-A1 with a 64bit version of Vista void any of the Asus warranties? I think I am covered by the basic stuff they offer, as well as the 1-year accidental damage thing.

And if it makes a difference, will it matter if its a legit copy? Or OEM?

    Thanks a lot,
    Rastorgx

    Warranty only covers hardware.

Though they will might ask you to do a recovery install before sending it in to rule out a software/OS issue.

If I've reformatted everything, and gotten rid of both partitions and all, will the Asus recovery dvd still restore it to its factory settings?

Make sure you also keep your driver CD secure. :) That's needed along with the recovery DVD.
