I'm waiting for santa rosa to buy a new notebook. Will the next g1 have an express slot? I think they should release a 14" g notebook with a great screen (not the shoddy viewing angles they currently have on 14" notebooks)

Not sure, ASUS is certainly saving money by re-using an old chassis(thus the PCMCIA slot), modifying the chassis may result in a price increase due to the change of manufacturing the unit.

As for the 14" screens, pretty much all 14" screens are bad, no matter which company makes it - except for the T60 14" IPS one. I remember there was a reason but I don't recall. But indeed, if a screen can match the G1 screen and perhaps make it IPS(yay!), it'd be awesome.
