I'm about to purchase the ASUS G1S A1, but I wanted to replace the current HD with a 7200RPM one. Does anyone know if this will void my warranty?

No. Read your warranty information. There's even pictures in the instruction on how to replace your HD.

It should not, however, keeping the HD in, lets say an enclosure, and using it as an external HD is a good idea just in case if you want to put it back if there is a need to send it back.

I've sent mines(Well, dropped) with a new HD, new RAM and new wireless card for it to be fixed and there was no problem.
