anyone else getting a code error 80200053 when using windows update?

edit - omg, for once the troubleshooting worked xD. Looks like simply stoping windows update service, renaming the folder "SoftwareDistribution" (located in the windows folder) to something else, start windows update back up, restart, then do a manual update has done the trick.

Just finished updating to SP1 even after using Driver Sweeper and all.

All you have to do is follow the instructions on the first post.
    Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Page 1) / Driver Sweeper / Phyxion.net Forums

Then run the sfc /scannow check to double check. Zero errors on my end after the restore. :)

Edit 2: Tada! No worries about the whole Driver Sweeper scare thingy.

Driver sweeper huh.. I never saw the point in using it really so I never did. I normally just use the default uninstall and use a registry cleaner which may have caused the issue with my updates.

I'm using Regtweaker and its I guess what you would call a deep cleaner. There are risks to this but thats why they recommend backups ( for example, this is what I get for doing too many registry cleans I guess). They do improve performance though.

Anyway, it seems that like in my earlier post, renaming the folder, restart, then applying the update sorta like reinstalls the update folder which is y it works. Mine took about 15 minutes to dl and install.

CCleaner and a good uninstaller like Revo is all you need really.
