Ok so now everything is working functionally, i want to start registering for the ASUS goodies. This includes the 2Yr warranty, 1 yr accidental and the windows 7 upgrade. I want to first get the win7 upgrade, the most important.
the email confirmation stated that Email a scanned copy of the web confirmation page and Proof of Purchase. Now i probably have lost the web confirmation page. can someone tell me what it should look like or how i can get it back? Should i just print out my ASUS email that came asking for it?
The proof of purchase is another mess.
The proof of purchase must include the following information:
o A clear description of the product.
o The product's date of purchase.
o An invoice or receipt number.
o The product's price.
o The reseller's contact information, and if possible, the reseller's company seal or logo.
o The proof of purchase should also include the product's serial number, if the reseller normally lists serial numbers on their invoices.
The last two im unsure about. What should i do about it...the SN on my receipt is not there...nor the contact info. Should i attach seperate documents of both for the email or photoshop the SN and contact info onto my original receipt?
thankyou for your help.
-
-
It states the SN should be on there if the seller NORMALLY lists the SN, so where di you purchase it from?
-
well i bought it from Zipzoomfly and it doesnt list the SN, so guess i will omit those details. the contact info i just created in photoshop copy and paste from screenshots as seen below.
now i need to know about the web confirmation email. this is important. idk how to get the confirmation page back, so should i just forward the email? thanks.... -
ok really any help here would be great....i need to do this quickly cuz i have a lot on my mind rite now and i will prolly forget about it.
on a sidenote, do you guys think i should register for Accidental warranty, will i really use it? cuz i have to go through hassle of signing up, sending proof of purchase etc. idk if i have spare time i will.... -
iirc, that card is for the warranty in general- but the accidental damage warranty is a bonus if you send the card in within 60 days of purchase.
-
-
I just sent the Invoice from newegg. and they ship it to US citizens for free, or at least my shipping was free.
-
o so you only send the invoice? did you recieve email confirmation saying "yes, we they will ship on oct. 22"? if so then...HOORAY...one more worry off my head. now for the 100USD rebate, on the tracking page, it still hasnt showed up as recieved even after 2 weeks.
-
bump? srsly want to to send the upgrade...will need to know if i need to send web confirmation thing or omit it....
-
I didn't get any documentation about Win 7 upgrade with my G15 so I asked my reseller and he gave me this site to go to.
http://event.asus.com/2009/windows7/
Did you guys get something you could mail in? and are you paying by credit card over the net? -
yea ive done all that and i got an email confirmation but its asking for the "web confirmation page", which i dont have...thats my question...where in the hec to i get it from?
btw you can email it to them and you dont pay anything if u live in the US. other countries need to pay shipping fees. -
bump any help
-
I think the web confirmation page is when you finish doing your order and it gives you the info on a page. You can print it and scan it (that's what they say) or just save it as a single webpage file and email it.
-
^ yes but the problem is that i never saved it....so what do i do then?
-
well i just sent in the email with the login status when u go to check ur details, as the web confirmation. do they send u back an approval email or what?
-
I saved the checkout page as a jpeg and html file and sent them both. Hopefully it goes through. I still haven't sent my 1 yr accidental card yet.
-
All I recieved back was an email stating that they recieved my files and email. I havent heard anything from them since even after emailing them two more times. And my order status still says Pending for Fulfillment... whatever that means
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
I'm assuming you're good to go, Sean, since your Win7 order can't be fulfilled until it's release in October.
Man, I still have to scan and send them in. I need a damned scanner. -

SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Hmm. Why not.
-
I have the exact same problem as you SACH7002 I either forgot to print one out or I just lost it either way I don't have it and now I don't have a way to send the confirmation page. I sent an email to the place in charge of the upgrade program and I was suppose to get a response 3 days later 4 days passed and I still have yet to receive a reply I sent them another email yesterday hopefully they respond to the second email. Let me know if they accepted your invoice/order receipt and the email. If that worked then I am going to do that as well.
-
yea i really need to know how to get it back...i wantz win7!!! hopefully they accept it. btw Sean, on the confirmation page, what did it say? like does it say exactly the same stuff as teh email they send u asking u to send proof of purchase?
-
The only thing I did different from you was I went here https://ebiz3.mentormediacorp.com/Query/%28S%28fr45yvejlvtypm55zmyyq145%29%29/faqs.aspx logged in printed that page and then scanned it. So I sent the receipt from my reseller and the page I scanned but it's basically the same as the email
edit: I just hope everything gets resolved before its too late. Lol there is three pages on this thread and yet none of them answer your question. -
yea like the login screen where it tells u pending thing? cuz thats what i sent in. hopefully it goes through....*crosses fingers*
^ yea srsly, im really asking how to get that web confimration page back or at least someone can describe what it looks like or post a pic (ofc black out the details) so i can know it even is.... -
good news SACH7002 I finally got a response from the email that I sent to the place that is in charge of the asus windows 7 upgrade program and I think you'll like what it says.
"Good Afternoon,
The confirmation page is the page that popped up after you placed your order. You can actually send in your confirmation email in its place. It will be as good as the confirmation page. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me back."
so there you have it. -
OMG thats awesome, now i dont need to worry about it. now its chaucer and his dam middle english recitations that i need to worry about....
hopefully the win7 asus team gives me back a email confirming the order. -
wait so has anyone here actually received a confirmation for the win7 upgrade? just wanna know how long they take to respond...
-
I haven't received any confirmation yet and it's been about a week.
-
Lol... I just sent an email yesterday asking that question and I got a response today:
"We are dealing with a large data base and are validating each proof of purchase. You will be notified within the next two weeks." -

Ah, how I love buying the retail version of Windows Seven. Oh wait, I'm not buying it, I'm getting it for free. It's Christmas in Russia once again!
-

You're getting the OEM copy for free, not the retail. Also, from my observation of this thread, it seems like it's a rocky road. However, I do wish the best for all of you. I'd be pissed too if I couldn't get my Windows Seven upgrade.
-
wait so SS you got urs from the clevo barebones you bought???
also i remember i read somewhere we are getting a RETAIL Anytime upgrade disc, not an OEM. idk i will have to dig around for that data again...
wait..what exactly is the difference between OEM and retail upgrade discs? -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I didn't buy an OS with my Clevo.
Yes, I would also like to know where you read that info. I doubt that Microsoft would grant free upgrades from OEM Vista to retail Seven. However, I would be surprised if they did. Dig up on that.
Retail versions can be used on any computer. OEM versions like the one that comes pre-installed on your notebook can only be used with that machine. You can buy a seperate OEM copy from Newegg or similar so you can install it on any computer. But just like the ones that come pre-installed, once you install it and register it with Microsoft, you cannot transfer the licence to another computer like the retail copy.
My uncle works for Microsoft in one of their dev teams. I get free software from them whenever I wish. For example, this is the retail copy of Vista that he sent me a few years ago. I have already asked him for Windows Seven so I should be receiving it a little bit more than a week or two before October 22.
-
^ wow thats nice. lol the only way for me to get vista are thru clubbing.com. i didnt know retail copies can be transferrable...thats nice. but then yea i guess its OEM copy, cuz that seems logical and retail was just an illusion my mind was making up.
-
lol bump anyone here got a confirmation mail from asus saying that they have approved the order?
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
No, but I can send you a confirmation email for Sovietsoft Vindows.
-
lol okay? is that a custom linux distro? LOL jk but it could be a good name ahaha
-
-
bump anyone receive a confirmation from ASUS?
-
bump//////
-
lol I just finally gave up on asus and took the offer that microsoft is giving to the college/university students....so i got windows retail version Profesional 64 bit for $30...and just because got the $13 backup disk..now I read that people are having trouble installing the 64 bit on 32 bit...(if you downloaded electronically) good thing i got the disk....
-
-
lol me 2 now i don't really care if i get the free upgrade...because between paying the "unbiassedly $20 shipping fee or the pro-64 bit for $30...i think you know which one is the logical one..unless you were getting the pro-64bit for $20...now we have to wait for Microsoft to resolve the problem but i have the CD so i just have to wait till i receive that then ill do a clean install and its all good....good time to be a student..lol
-
yea ended up getting the student win7 deal professional of course
the only thing i really want is the drivers disc that apparently comes with the "free" upgrade from ASUS
that and i'm still waiting on the dam rebate to be sent over! -
lol i got the rebate, best 1252USD used in my life, i luvs the A1. btw, dangit, how long did it take u to get passed the pending for proof of purchase part mk1freak? im in no hurry but i would like to setup my shiznits in win7 instead of this semi-permanent vista. lulz i gonna need a guide to install the upgrade disc, idk how it works. is it like, you put it in and it erases everything off ur hdd and install a FRESH win7? that would be my ideal situation, start off on a clean slate.
-
in anycase i've been coming across some issues with my w7 upgrade from home premium to professional (its so i can connect to the school domain) i had to do a clean install of it but some items are missing drivers and i cant figure what they are yet OR are having problems during startup of the services in any case i hope to have it resolved soon. i was doing the install at work but i just got home and hopefully i can figure it out soon.
in anycase i'm hopiong its something easy and ill update everyone in a seperate thread -
lol..now i am having trouble installing windows 7 with my ubs flash drive....I don't know how to boot it....I did some google'ing and still i am stuck n.e ideas?..
as for the proof of purchase its still on pending of proof of purchase...and I was planning on doing a clean install either way so i got the 64 bit..
edit: If you havent read before I have the student windows 7...so I only have the download version(from microsoft.not pirated) and no cd...so far all the methods require cd... -
Lol..now my status is at pending fullfillment....haha
"Pending for Fulfillment"...way to change status once I but a retail version...
Edit: Is this supposed windows 7 that i am going to get...can I install it on a different computer using the cdkey that came with my vista?? because I am using a totally different cd key with windows 7....so yea..is it possible?
