I've recently installed Win 7 RC1 x64 on my original G1. So far I have to say it's gone pretty smoothly.

The only real issue i'm encountering is that when I close my laptop lid the screen will not come back on when I open it up again. I have to put the computer to sleep then wake it back up again. I'm thinking it's an ACPI problem and i'm wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue?

I've tried various graphics drivers from both Nvidia and LV2Go but the issue remains. If anyone can provide any advice it would be much appreciated.

Have you installed all of your other drivers (chipset and what not) on this not ready for use operating system?

Yep. Used the Vista x64 chipset drivers from Intel's website but to no avail unfortunately.

I have just read a long thread over at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...h/thread/06d8f624-bdd3-4d45-a62a-60c9bcb81f57 which relates peoples experience of this issue with Vista. Within the thread is a temporary solution of disabling the 'ACPI Lid' system device within Device Manager. I've just gone ahead and done this and since Windows now knows nothing about a laptop lid the screen stays on even when closed.

Unfortunately this doesn't really solve the issue, just works around it so i'll keep investigating. If anyone else has any thoughts/experience it would be good to hear them.
