Yesterday i updated my stock ATI drivers from 9.12 to 10.6 on my G73jh-A1.

So far no major issues like GSOD's and stuff like that.

It even boosted my FPS from 34 to 57 in DiRT 2! :D

However there is a small issue with Windows Aero.

When i start any game, Aero disables itself and after i stop playing it doesn't enable itself.

When i then try to enable it manually it automatically jumps back to the Basic theme (non-Aero).

The only way to fix this is rebooting the machine.

Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

Do you have Power4Gear installed? Are you using those power themes? Try uninstalling and re-installing the software. It seems to be a bit buggy. I had it creating new themes that wouldn't rotate the wallpaper like I wanted it to, and this cleared it up.

Hmm it looks like reinstalling Power4Gear did the trick, no more broken Aero :) .
    Thank you!

No problem. I'm strongly considering uninstalling it all together if it causes me any more issues, but thus far it's been ok.
