Its weird whenever I leave it on idle Vista would crash and goes to a BSOD after 10-15 min of idling. By the way I am running Vista home premium and I have an ASUS G1A. Thanks for any help.

Try reinstalling the ATK driver, if possible. It sounds like your computer may have some trouble entering a power-saving state.

If this continues to happen, I'd try reinstalling Vista... but let's not try that option until we know for sure that it's a Windows problem.

Your laptop is configured to sleep after what period of time?

I am guessing that vista crashes when it goes into a power saving mode like sleep mode or turning the screen off. Setting Vista to "never Sleep" will probably prevent the issue, but still does find the cause.

once you update your driver, the problem should be solved

Also the sound gets distorted moments before the BSOD. The sound repeats like when you are playing a video and it freezes and the segment just before it repeats it self.

Could be the video card - have you tried running any graphics intensive programs/games (i.e. 3dmark) and gotten a similar result?

i ran Crysis and UT 3 and everything was fine, I actually think it may have something to do with the sound driver. Can a sound driver cause a BSOD.

    Sure it can.

If you haven't yet updated your ACPI drivers I suggest you do.
