I am running Windows Server 2008 as a workstation and loving it. I could post a ton of stuff but figured I'd rather not waste my time unless someone had a specific question or concern.

This website is a great starting point:

    http://www.win2008workstation.com/wordpress/

I've done the following (in no particular order) in terms of installation or setup tweaks:

    Installed a second HD
Boot encrypted the system drive (TrueCrypt not Bitlocker)
Encrypted the second drive as a TrueCrypt volume to be unlocked at Windows Login
Upgraded to beta graphics drivers for the 9600m GS with 512 MB ram
Installed and regularly use Hyper-V with 2 or 3 VMs at a time
Ported VMs from machine to machine for testing and dev purposes
    Installed Adeona Tracking Service (free)
Set-up a custom recycle bin archiving algorithm (Anytime I empty my recycle bin it archives the contents and keeps the last 10 archives of contents (encrypted, of course))
Have hardware monitoring of CPU, GPU, HDs and more
Monitor the stats on a few servers I run (both physical and virtual)
Am looking to upgrade the memory (see )
Have tweaked the services and installed devices list
    Regularly use a bluetooth keyboard
    Regularly use a second monitor
Tweaked the power settings to adjust to my typical scenarios (plugged in 20/7 and unplugged 4/7)
Stopped leaving the battery in the laptop when AC is in

    Software I am Using:
(Caveat - I have an MSDN license so a lot of the software I use is pricey to most but free to me)
