    That is a tough question. The SD card is nice because you can leave it in your computer and it isn't in the way. The flash drive is nice because it is cheaper, more universal, and usually they are faster. I would say to start with the flash drive, you can feel it out, and if need be get and SD card, or get a small flash drive for $10 and it won't be a big deal, then you can watch for a killer deal on an SD card. My big concern with the SD card is its bus speed, I don't know if it is capable of running as fast as USB 2.0, and the cards that can run that fast are usually significantly more expensive than a flash drive, could be as much as 7x the price for a comparable speed and size, assuming a capable bus speed.
