Go to Vista website @ MS, run upgrade advisor compatibility wizard, or whatever they call it. d8d

BE CAREFULL!!! My new W3J says its compatible and installing vista aused it to crash half way through the install and then in ceased to turn on at all. In the end my boot was corrupted. I was able to get my machine to turn on only after removing the batteries for a half hour. Then I had to run fixboot and fixmbr. There are others in this ASUS forum who had the same results. I will not attempt again until it is more solid. The other did not just have the W3J either.

First do not upgrade to vista do a fresh format and install. Also Vista is in beta. The w3j will be vista ready when its released asus has no obligation to have it working till then. when the final version of vista is out asus will be a new bios and it will work fine. betas dont work alot of time thats why they are betas you cant get mad about it.

Works fine on my W5F using Beta 2 and build 5456. The only issues I have is with Bluetooth. The drivers won't install through the .exe program or manually. Thus, I don't use Vista that much b/c I use the Bluetooth mouse that came with the unit.

That being said, I Aero Glass even works if you select Intel "Lakeport" graphics from the graphics driver menu.

You can theoretically put the 32-bit Vista on a W5F, but if you want a 64-bit OS, you're gonna have to wait until Merom comes (and void your warranty, so it's probably not worth it).

I'm still sticking with my XP though, Vista is most likely going to be bug-ridden when it first comes out, so I think I'm gonna hold out for a while.

    On a side note: I own a W5F as well :D

if you have anything toshiba in your system, they are not supplying any types of drivers til the final version comes out. Sad, but true.
