I'm considering buying the X1, but I want to be able to dual boot XP 32 bit. Are the drivers that are needed for XP in existence?

Thanks guys! So the G50V Drivers will work with a G50VT too? I just went to Best Buy today to look at the X1 and X5 and have fallen in love with the Gateway P-7805U sitting next to the X5. It's so hard to decide! Does the DDR3 RAM vs. DDR2 in the ASUS make a difference, and are the XP drivers as easy to get hold of? Should I post these questions in Gateway instead?

As of now, DDR3 and DDR2 performance is negligible due to the high latencies on the DDR3 ram.

I'm pretty sure the P7805U can run XP just fine, but you should be able to find more helpful information on the Gateway forum regarding the specifics.

Does anyone know why my G50VT-X2 is BSOD'ing after showing "Setup is starting Windows" when attempting to install Windows XP? I've updated my bios and it still doesn't work. I'm not running RAID or anything, It doesn't really make sense to me

    I think it's SATA.

You need slipstream the SATA driver into XP CD or go to BIOS to change to compatible.
    BIOS>Advanced>IDE Controllers>sATA Operation mode

SATA driver can be find in G50VT thread.

For sata enhanced mode you need to slipstream this into your xp install with nlite
