My Asus z63a came in the mail today (and I'm exceedingly happy), but I'm running into trouble trying to set up my wireless. I configured our router yesterday after many painstaking attempts, and it should be good to go. But when I go to Control Panel-->Network Connections on the laptop, I have no "Wireless Network Connections" icon like I should! I know I ordered a wireless card. Please help.

All the drivers are installed and firmware updated right?

I'm sure Windows automatically attempts to find a 'wireless' connection nearby to connect to, Last time I did something similiar, Windows just gave me a popup with the connections nearby and I just had to connect to it...

    Hmmm...

Which wireless card are you using? 2200 or the 2915? Also, what model router?

Yeah, you should see an icon, along with the modem and Ethernet plug. It's possible the drivers just need to be installed.

go to start > settings > control panel > system > hardware > device manager.
expand network adapters and see if your wireless card is listed.
If not, check for yellow question marks.

Well, the problem was the SSID wasn't given to me, so I had to look it up. Thanks a LOT, Linksys ^.~* Well now I am completely mollified and THRILLED with my Asus. Thank you so much to everyone in the forum who influenced my decision and geared2play for giving me a great price! :asus: W00T!
