Okay, so apparently my wireless card has completely stopped working. It's switched on, and I've restarted and turned the switch on and off numerous times. I'm assuming this is a driver problem. My question is which wireless card does the G72GX-RBBX09 have, and where should I go to get proper wireless drivers? On Asus' site, I see several different drivers for the wireless after searching for G72GX, and I have no idea which one to choose.

The G72Gx series have either the Intel 5300 or an Azurewave wifi card. Go to your Device Manager -> Networks Adapter to check which wireless adapter is installed. Once identified, you can select and download the driver from the Asus support website.

Um...apparently I have an Atheros AR928X wireless adapter. This is nowhere on the list of options for drivers. I searched google and can't even find Windows 7 compatible drivers for this adapter. Did they give me the wrong wireless card or something?
-
In that case, check your drivers disk to see if it's on there.
You can also download them here:

Hmm...the disc doesn't have ANY drivers for that adapter (why is this? Did I get screwed with a cheap wireless card that isn't supposed to be in this model?), and the ones in the link you provided are for XP. Also, they're older than the drivers currently on my computer. I'm not sure what I should do.

This thread may contain the v8.0.0.X drivers you may want. The Windows 7/Windows Vista drivers are there.

Thank you! I wonder why there's no official page with these drivers? I'm going to try installing it now.

I have the G72GX-RBBX05 with the Atheros AR928X card. The azurewave driver version 8.0.0.238 from Asus support appears to be the correct driver for this card. This is the one that I have installed in W/7 64 and all is working correctly.

I just had a similar issue where no connections were detected, and it didn't seem to be even trying to find them. It was as if the switch were off. I right clicked my computer, properties, then went to device manager, then into network adapters and uninstalled the wireless stuff. I hooked up my laptop to the internet with an ethernet cable, then in the device manager I right clicked, scanned for hardware changes, and it automatically installed the drivers. Wireless internet works again now.

I downloaded the 8.0.0.239 file from the link, but I don't know where to extract it. I now have a bunch of inf and other files in a folder on my desktop, lol. -
Did you try Fn + F2 buttons? make sure your hard switch is on the press those 2 buttons and see what happens.

Yeah...still having occasional disconnection issues.
