Anyone have any idea how the S96J handles World of Warcraft? With a nice 7200 rpm hard drive, 1-2gb of memory I really am wondering what kind of performance it can pull off!

For instance, if someone could tell me what FPS they get at the screens native resolution (best to run it at that, right?) and all highest settings, by the bank in ironforge or orgrimmar that would be great! and then at mid settings/low settings etc. Even some FPS head up in MC would be cool!

(to see FPS in game press Control R)

I know this is asking a lot, but I've seen 3dmark scores, and people saying it runs 'smooth' but that dosnt say much to me

Heres hoping for a constant 50-60fps on high in a busy area..! :D

It's the S96J for me, or if it comes to it, the Sager 5760..! (i'll sell my organs)

It will run WoW smooth on the highest settings at 1280x800 (native res).. That's all you need to know. If you really want some numbers, its about low 40s fps in most places and maybe 25-30 in Ironforge, according to the 3dmark scores, which is similar to my card. (6800GT)

25-30 in IF at everything maxed really isn't bad! So I imagine with things turned down to medium settings once ould obtain around 40 in IF and 50 everywhere else?

I just ask for FPS/settings because what is smooth to me (everything on low at 20fps) is not smooth to others like my brother (50-60fps, all maxed).

I run at 25-30 fps on my v6(x700), with max settings and it only lags a bit in peak hours in IF(like after traveling there via griphons and loading all the afks :p).

If coriolis gets 25-30 and the X1600 is almost twice the power then.... It should run WOW very well at maxed out settings.

i think it's a misunderstanding that the x1600 is twice as better. it's more like 40% if we go by benchmarks (x700 w/ 256 gets around 2800). most people probably don't get over 5000 with their x1600.

The X1600 will get about 3800-3900. So it's more like 35-40% faster than the X700. Corolis said he gets about 25 fps on maximum settings which is about 35% less than my estimated 40 fps.

So in conclusion, my scores should be dead on. 25-30 fps on IronForge if you're lucky.

Here are my experiences with WoW on the S96J (high settings, full resolution, no aa)

1.) close to 30 fps in Ironforge
    2.) 50-60 everywhere else
3.) it does get a bit warm near the palm rest, but not uncomfortable.
4.) the fan does become audible, but it's not bad at all.
5.) The air coming out of the back vents actually seem less than hot than when I was playing WoW on my T41.

Those are some of the things that I remember from playing WoW all weekend on it. :) WoW is definitely something this laptop handles very well.
